Stevens Point Area Accident Causes Three Deaths

The lives of a 19 year old man from Linwood, a 29 year old man from Whiting and a 25 year old man from Stevens Point were claimed in an automobile accident in the Town of Linwood, Wisconsin at the intersection of Highway 66 and Birchwood Lane, about 4 miles southwest of Stevens Point.  They were heading west on Highway 66 when the driver lost control and the truck hit a utility pole and embankment.

Marshfield Woman Injured In Accident

A Marshfield woman was injured Friday evening in a head-on collision with a vehicle that was driving the wrong way on Highway 13.  She was driving northbound when another vehicle driven by a Spencer man collided with her.  The man was driving the wrong way on the divided highway.  He was having a diabetic reaction, which police said caused him to drive down the wrong side of the road.

Antigo Car Accident Causes Injuries

A two-vehicle crash near Antigo caused three injuries, at least one of which is severe.  Aden Van Norman, of Mattoon, was driving southbound on Parkway Road and failed to stop at the Forest Avenue stop sign. Van Norman’s vehicle was hit by a Dodge Caravan driven by Kathleen Drabek of Antigo.  Both drivers were injured, as was Aden Van Norman’s passenger, Janet Van Norman. 

Several People Injured in Schofield Accident

A sport utility vehicle crashed into a frozen river in Schofield Friday night.  The SUV rear-ended another vehicle near Grand Avenue and Grace Street, before crossing the road and ending up in the river.  Emergency crews on scene said three people were inside the vehicle at the time and were injured.

Proposed WI Ski Area Law Bad for Skiers and Tourism?

WAUSAU, Wis. – Skiers would take on nearly all the risk associated with a day on the ski hill or cross-country trail under legislation that gets a public hearing on Wednesday. Christine Bremer Muggli, a Wausau trial attorney and past president of the Wisconsin Association for Justice, says the proposed law goes too far.
