Wausau Accident

A Wausau intersection was blocked after a two car crash in the downtown area Tuesday evening.  The accident involved cars at the intersection of 5th Street and Scott Street in Wausau.  At least one occupant was injured in the crash.  There also was damage to a streetlight.

Fatal Christmas Eve Crash

A 64-year-old woman was killed in a Christmas Eve Shawano County crash.  According to officials, a vehicle traveling on County Road D in Seneca crossed Highway 29 into the path of an eastbound vehicle. A female passenger in one of the vehicles was killed.  No further details are available; the crash is still under investigation.

Horse-drawn Wagon vs. Truck Crash Kills One, Severely Injures Another

One man has died and a young boy remains in critical condition following a Friday evening crash in Wood County.  A 31-year-old Vesper man and a 10-year-old boy were traveling north in a horse-drawn wagon on County Highway HH near Hayes Lane in the town of Hansen.  They were hit from behind by a pickup truck that was traveling north on the same highway.  Both occupants of the horse-drawn wagon were ejected and seriously injured.  Both were airlifted to Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield in critical condition.  The 31-year-old man has since died from his injuries.

One Killed, One Injured in Stratford Area Crash

On Sunday afternoon, a three-vehicle crash near Stratford killed one person and injured another.  According to the Marathon County Sheriff's Department, a 94-year-old man was traveling on Blackberry Road when he approached its intersection with Highway 97.  He entered the intersection and was struck by a vehicle traveling northbound.  This collision pushed his vehicle into the path of a southbound milk truck, causing another collision.

Lincoln County Highway Worker Killed By Passing Car

A Lincoln County highway worker was struck by a car and killed on Tuesday afternoon.  According to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department, the 50-year-old worker was flagging southbound traffic on Highway 17 in the town of Merrill.  He was holding a stop sign to prevent southbound traffic from proceeding when he was struck by a car driven by an 84-year-old woman.  The collision caused the car to roll several times in a ditch on the east side of Highway 17 before it came to rest in a creek.  The highway worker was pronounced dead at Good Samaritan Hospital in Merrill.
