DC Everest High School’s Scholar of the Month – Joshua Merchant

Bremer & Trollop Law Offices, S.C. congratulate Josh Merchant, a senior at D.C. Everest High School, who was chosen as the Bremer & Trollop December Scholar of the Month.

William Heeren, a chemistry teacher at D.C. Everest High School, has written the following about Josh, “I first met Josh two years ago when he was a student in my 9^th hour honors chemistry class. From the start, Josh proved himself to be extraordinary. Not only were his performances on tests and his homework completed outstandingly, but, so too, was every aspect of his academic being. From asking insightful questions, to sharing thought-filled responses, Josh was always on top of his game. I especially appreciated when Josh was really able to create on his own as he did in several of the inquiry activities we carried out through the year. I could always count on Josh to be a leader.

But Josh was not just a leader academically; Josh was also a king in terms of deportment.  In spite of having an aptitude second to none, Josh always conferred a respect to everyone that certainly left me in awe. His cheerful and always-helpful persona, along with the true deference he always paid to every one of his colleagues, endeared him to all.”

As a Scholar of the Month, Josh will be awarded a scholarship from Bremer & Trollop Law Offices at the close of the 2014-2015 academic year. To be eligible for this recognition, the Bremer & Trollop Scholar of the Month must be a senior and be selected by his or her instructors based on the quality of the work that has been completed in the core curricular areas.

Josh is the son of Tom and Jody Merchant.
