Two teenage bicyclists were hurt when they were struck by a hit-and-run vehicle in Owen-Withee on Sunday morning on State Highway 29 near Gorman Avenue.  Soon after the bicycle accident, a Greenwood police officer stopped a pickup truck driven by a 26-year-old Thorp man for a defective headlight and also discovered some front end damage.  That man, Scott Horn, was arrested for first-offense drunken driving and causing injury by intoxicated use of a vehicle.

Many bicyclists don't realize they may have insurance coverage from their own automobile insurance company that will apply in an accident with a motor vehicle such as the one described in this situation.  An experienced personal injury attorney can assist an injured victim to make sure there is proper use of all possible avenues of coverage for medical bills.  Also, early investigation is often important.  Too often, injured victims are playing catch-up in terms of their claims because while they are focused on recovering from an injury, the insurance companies are already at work defending their own interests.  It is important for injured victims to contact a plaintiffs' personal injury attorney right away following an accident.  Call Bremer & Trollop Law Offices for a free consultation at 715-849-3200 if you or someone close to you is in need of help following a bicycle accident.  Bremer & Trollop has offices in Marshfield, Wausau, Stevens Point, Antigo and Minocqua.  Home and hospital visits are also available.
