Multiple people were injured in a car accident in Knowlton near Lake DuBay today. The crash happened on Highway 34 near the Highway 39 overpass. Two cars were involved and one came to rest on its roof.
On Wednesday Oneida County deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash on State Highway 17, just south of Boyce Drive. A Toyota SUV rear-ended another vehicle then struck that vehicle's door before ending up in a ditch. The occupant of the other vehicle was transported to Ministry St. Mary's Hospital with injuries. The driver of the Toyota was issued a citation for inattentive driving.
Billie Jo Mc Sherry of Tigerton has been charged with intoxicated use of a motor vehicle after she is alleged to have crossed the center line of Highway 49, causing a collision with a motorcycle driven by Robert Korhonen of Antigo. Tragically, Mr. Korhonen was killed in the crash and his passenger, Stacey Zarda, was seriously injured.
A motorcycle accident has resulted in one death and at least one other serious injury in the Town of Alban Saturday afternoon. It has been reported the driver of a car crossed the center line on State Highway 49 north of Nerdahl Road and collided with the motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene and his passenger was airlifted to a hospital. Alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
One person is dead after a crash Wednesday night in Shawano. Two vehicles collided around 8:10 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Wisconsin Highway 29 and County Highway U near Shawano. It is believed a commercial vehicle heading north on the county road hit a car traveling west on the highway. The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
A truck rolled over on County Highway Y Tuesday night, ejecting the driver. The driver was traveling north on County Y when the vehicle left the road and rolled over. A passenger also sustained injuries.
Ernest Paul Elliot, of Wausau, died when the car he was riding in turned in front of a sports utility vehicle on County Highway W on Wednesday. A woman from Merrill who was also in the car was seriously hurt as were the two drivers.
An accident in the 600 block of Fifth Avenue in Antigo on Thursday injured a pedestrian. An automobile driven by Wendy Losser was heading east on Fourth Avenue when she tried to drive west on Fifth Avenue, but she crossed the street and struck a car owned by Amber Crum. Ms. Crum was standing near the rear of her vehicle when she was also hit by Losser’s car, throwing her across the sidewalk and into the side of a building. She was injured and was airlifted via Flight For Life to Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
One person is dead and his passenger was injured after a single car crash in Lincoln county yesterday. It happened on Grundy Road north of County Road J in the Township of Birch. Speed and alcohol are believed to have been factors in the crash, the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office said.
A car accident Tuesday evening caused a brief power outage in Wausau impacting about 5,000 customers. Two cars collided at the intersection of North 2nd Street and Humboldt Avenue. At least one person was injured.
