Multiple Motorcycle Crashes Over Fall Ride Weekend

Area authorities are reporting that separate crashes injured multiple motorcyclists and one child over the course of Tomahawk’s annual Fall Ride for MDA.

In the first crash Thursday afternoon on Highway 107 in the Town of Bradley, one motorcycle collided with the back of another that had slowed for turkeys in the road.  One woman was injured as a result of this crash.

In a second accident, an SUV collided with a motorcycle on Highway 8 near Tomahawk.  This accident caused Highway 8 to close for a period of time on Friday morning.  The motorcycle driver was transported to Aspirus Wausau Hospital with injuries.  The four-year-old SUV passenger was taken by ambulance to Sacred Heart Hospital.

In a third crash Sunday morning between two motorcycles on Highway A, east of Tomahawk, one motorcycle slowed for a porcupine and was struck from behind by another motorcycle.  One woman was airlifted to Aspirus Wausau Hospital with head injuries.  A man and woman were taken to Ministry Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk, and the man was later flown by helicopter to Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.

These accidents are still being investigated by local authorities.  Read more at The Wausau Daily Herald.

After accidents like those discussed above, there are many reasons why it is important to involve an experienced personal injury lawyer right away.  For example, some people mistakenly think a biker who was injured while not wearing a helmet is partially at-fault and should receive less compensation for his or her personal injury claim.  The law in Wisconsin says the opposite:  failure to wear a helmet while riding a motorcycle cannot reduce compensation in a personal injury claim.  Bremer & Trollop Law Offices has experience handling cases arising out of motorcycle accidents, and can talk to you about how they handle special considerations like helmet use.  While you work on recovering from your injuries, we can work to investigate the accident, handle your medical bills and manage your insurance claim to resolve your case.  Call Bremer & Trollop today for a free consultation today. Bremer & Trollop has offices in Wausau, Minocqua, Marshfield, Antigo and Stevens Point.
